ABSTRACT:
A device for measuring the mass flow or speed of a gas in a pipe comprising a first annular insulating member which supports an ionic source electrode, a second annular insulating member spaced from the first element in the flow direction, the second member supporting "transparent" and collecting electrodes which are insulated from each other and from the source electrode, and a grounded conducting guard ring located between the first and second members which prevents surface currents from flowing between the first and second members.
