ABSTRACT:
An ion-selective electrode comprises a non-conductive support, an inner reference electrode and an ion-selective layer mounted in this order. A surface of the ion-selective layer is covered with a material which forms a contact angle of at least 90.degree. with water. By this material, the surface area over which a test liquid comes into contact with the ion-selective layer is reduced.
