ABSTRACT:
Ion exchange strengthening of soda-lime-silica glass compositions may be carried out at higher temperatures and thus greater speeds if the glasses include about 2.5 to 4.5 percent by weight Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and/or 2 to 4.5 percent by weight ZrO.sub.2.
