ABSTRACT:
An internal combustion engine is provided which has an exhaust gas turbocharger and an exhaust gas recirculation device, and in which valve control times of intake valves and/or outlet valves of the individual cylinders of the internal combustion engine are different. Cylinders which supply an exhaust gas recirculation device have shorter valve overlap times or none at all in comparison with cylinders that do not supply the exhaust gas recirculation device. The internal combustion engine is preferably embodied as a diesel engine for truck applications.
