An integrated hydro-mechanical transmission having the capability of achieving continuous variability from zero to maximum in both the forward and reverse vehicle directions and having the additional capability of automatically locking up for direct mechanical drive in at least one operator selectable drive range corresponding to typical city, suburban and highway driving.
