ABSTRACT:
An intake air device includes a first intake passage the length of which is fixed; a second intake passage the length of which can be changed, and a downstream-end of which is joined to a downstream-portion of the first intake passage; a first valve the opening degree of which can be changed, and which is provided in the first intake passage; a second valve the opening degree of which can be changed, and which is provided in the second intake passage; and operation means for operating the first valve and the second valve according to the operating state of the internal combustion engine. With this configuration, the cross sectional area perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of at least one intake passage that is used can be appropriately changed according to the operating state of the internal combustion engine.
