ABSTRACT:
This is a branching connector for establishing a branch connection between a main cable (15) and at least one branch cable (15').
In accordance with the invention, at least the projecting part of contact members (17, 65 65') employed for this purpose is embedded in an insulating material dished member (42, 42', 76, 76') adapted to be applied against a cable (15, 15') of this kind all around it and so to seal and protect the electrical contact established between it and this cable (15, 15').
Application, inter alia, to the connection of users to overhead electrical power distribution networks.
