An inkjet printhead with an array of nozzles10formed on a supporting substrate16. Each nozzle has a chamber34for holding ink, each nozzle chamber being partially defined by a nozzle portion that defines a nozzle opening24. The nozzle22of each assembly10is displaceable relative to the substrate16for effecting ink ejection on demand. The nozzles10each have a respective actuator unit28connected to the nozzle22and arranged externally of the chamber34for controlling displacement of the nozzle22.
