ABSTRACT:
An ink jet recording medium is disclosed, comprising a coating formed on at least one surface of a substrate, characterized in that said substrate has an apparent density of 0.60 to less than 0.75 g/cm.sup.3 and a Steckigt sizing degree of 2 to 18 seconds and the coating is formed by applying a coating agent containing a white pigment, of which the BET specific surface is 100 to 400 m.sup.2 /g at a rate in the range of 2 to 10 g/m.sup.2.
An ink jet recording method is also disclosed, characterized in that recording is performed using water-color ink, of which the surface tension at 20.degree. C. is 40 dyne/cm, on an ink jet recording medium.
