ABSTRACT:
An improved ink jet recording material is disclosed comprising a support and an ink receiving layer. This layer contains a pigment and a polymeric binder comprising a structural unit derived from a monomer represented by following formula (I):wherein,R1 is alkyl, R2 is alkyl or aryl, R3 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, L is a linking unit selected from CO—NH, CO—O, and CO, and R4 is hydrogen or alkyl.The material is improved for mechanical strength. The finished ink jet image shows high color densities and high gloss without the occurence of cracking.
