ABSTRACT:
An ink composition and method for ink jet recording are disclosed. The ink composition comprises a coloring agent and additives which are adjusted to bring the roundness of dots formed on a recording medium, such as paper, of from 50 to 80 g/m.sup.2, to be at least 0.75 where said roundness (D) is represented by the formula
