ABSTRACT:
In the case where a reservation has been made via a bridge in, e.g., an IEEE 1394 serial data bus, and bus resetting has occurred in a bus connected to the reserve owner, it is desirable that another bus connected to the bridge is able to find the reserve owner. To this end, a controller A sends its own EUI-64to a target to be reserved. The target stores the information of at least some of the functions of the target itself as reserved and the EUI-64of the device (node) which has made the reservation for use. In attempting to reserve the target, the controller B reads out the EUI-64of the reserve owner from the target and verifies whether or not the reservation is possible. If the reservation is possible, the controller B writes its own EUI-64in the target.
