An information management apparatus50according to the present invention comprises: a database30dfor storing information relevant to a printer40therein; output request reception means20afor receiving an output request transmitted from a portable terminal14; inquiry signal transmission means20afor transmitting an inquiry signal on the printer40being an output destination to the portable terminal14; communication means for receiving image data transmitted from the portable terminal14; recognition means30bfor recognizing the identification information of the printer40by analyzing the image data transmitted in response to the inquiry signal; retrieval means30cfor retrieving the information relevant to the printer40from the data base30don the basis of the acquired recognition information; and printing means20cfor outputting the information to the printer40on the basis of the information relevant to the printer40retrieved by the retrieval means30c.
