The channel has a series of ports opening into a passageway in the catheter wall that terminates at the outer end of the catheter in a fluid inlet. The fluid is delivered into the passageway through said inlet and flows through the ports and into the channel so as to irrigate or medicate the urethral canal and the outside surface of the catheter.
