There is provided an industrial robot having no interference of a cable for an end effector or the like with a peripheral apparatus.An end effector5is fixed to a wrist flange4through an intermediate member6. The intermediate member6takes the shape of a crankshaft in which a first flange6aattached directly to the wrist flange4, a second flange6bprovided at a predetermined interval in parallel with the first flange6aand attached directly to the end effector5, and two members6cand6dfor coupling the first and second flanges6aand6bare arranged symmetrically.
