ABSTRACT:
An indirectly heated cathode C1comprises a heater1,a double coil2,a mesh member3,and a metal oxide10.An electrical insulating layer4is formed on the surface of heater1.Heater1is inserted into and positioned at the inner side of double coil2.Mesh member3is disposed along the length direction of double coil2at the outer side of double coil2.Double coil2is grounded by being connected to the ground terminal of heater1via a lead rod7.Metal oxide10is held by double coil2and disposed to be in contact with mesh member3.Metal oxide10and mesh member3are exposed to the outer side of indirectly heated electrode C1so that the surface of metal oxide10and the surface of mesh member3make up a discharge surface and mesh member3is in contact with the surface part of metal oxide10.
