An inbred corn line, designated HX740, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred corn line HX740, to the plants of inbred corn line HX740 and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing the inbred line HX740 with itself or another corn line. The invention further relates to hybrid corn seeds and plants produced by crossing the inbred line HX740 with another corn line.
