ABSTRACT:
An in-plane switching mode LCD device includes first and second substrates, a gate line and a data line arranged horizontally and vertically on the first substrate and defining a pixel, a switching device at each crossing of the gate line and the data line, a first common electrode having a first grid structure disposed in the pixel, a first pixel electrode having a second grid structure disposed in the pixel, a first region in the pixel region defined by first sides of the first grid and second sides of the second grid, a second common electrode connecting the first sides and a second pixel electrode connecting the second sides and defining a second region in the first region, a first alignment film and a second alignment film at facing surfaces of the first and second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and the second substrates.
