ABSTRACT:
An in-line deserter and integrator for separating books of nested folded product and reintegrating them into a single stream on a conveyor includes a separator section of conveyor belts for lengthening the pitch of the shingled stream, a speed differential section having belts and associated pinch rollers operating at different speeds to pull one part of the nested folded product forwardly of the other, a high-speed deshingling belt section completely separating the product and a reintegrator section for restacking the separated product into a single shingled stream.
