ABSTRACT:
An impulsive noise reducing system comprises a peak level detector for producing a detection signal with specific rise and fall time constants, in response to positive and/or negative peak levels of an input signal. Any signal which relatively exceeds the level of the detection signal by positive and/or negative peak levels of impulsive noise admixed in the input signal causes a control signal to be generated. Responsive to the control signal, that part of the input signal wherein the impulsive noise exists is suppressed.
