An impact tool comprising a motor, a hammer8that is rotated and axially moved by a drive force of the motor, an anvil3that repeats engagement/disengagement from the hammer8accompanying rotation and axial movements of the hammer8, and a tip tool4mounted to the anvil3, the anvil3comprising a first split piece3A, which includes pawls3c(first concave-convex part) on an opposite side to the hammer and repeats engagement/disengagement from the hammer8, a second split piece3B, which includes pawls3f(second concave-convex part) engageable with the pawls (first concave-convex part)3cof the first split piece3A in a direction of rotation, and to which the tip tool4is mounted, and a rubber damper (elastic body)13interposed between the first and second split pieces3A,3B to prevent direct contact between the pawls (first concave-convex part)3cand the pawls (second concave-convex part)3fin the direction of rotation and in an axial direction.
