ABSTRACT:
An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging member, a means for generating an electrostatic latent image on the imaging member, a means for developing the latent image, an intermediate transfer element having a charge relaxation time from about 3.times.10.sup.-1 seconds to about 2.times.10.sup.2 seconds to which the developed image can be transferred from the imaging member, and a means for transferring the developed image from the intermediate transfer element to a substrate. Also disclosed is an imaging process which comprises generating an electrostatic latent image on an imaging member, developing the latent image, transferring the developed image to an intermediate transfer element having a change relaxation time from about 3.times.10.sup.-1 seconds to about 2.times.10.sup.2 seconds, which enables the transfer with very high transfer efficiency of the developed image from the intermediate transfer element to substrate.
