ABSTRACT:
An image signal recording system for recording an image signal corresponding to an original picture comprised of m picture elements (m being an integer, m.gtoreq.4) on a recording medium, in which the original picture is divided into m
picture element blocks, each comprised of n picture elements (n being a measure, 2.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.m); and first image information signals are formed by sampling a first picture element out of n picture elements constituting each picture element block on the basis of a first sampling mode, a second image information signal is formed by sampling a second picture element which is different from the first picture element on the basis of second sampling mode and the first image information signal and the second image information signal are recorded on a track having first and second areas which form continuous areas on the recording medium, respectively, in such manner that the first image information signal is recorded on the first area and the second image information signal is recorded on the second area.
