ABSTRACT:
An image signal recording apparatus of the kind handling and recording on a recording medium an image signal which corresponds to a still image consisting of a plurality of horizontal scanning lines and which consists of a plurality of horizontal scanning line information signals corresponding to the horizontal scanning lines is arranged to receive the image signal by the unit of the horizontal scanning line information signal; to obtain horizontal scanning line information data by digitizing the horizontal scanning line information signals; and to form an n number (n: an integer which is at least one) of recording tracks on the recording medium by recording on the medium the horizontal scanning line information data which corresponds to an m number (m: an integer which can be expressed as 1.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.10) of horizontal scanning lines.
