ABSTRACT:
An image processing apparatus has a CCD sensor for reading an original image, comparators and latches for detecting maximum and minimum levels of the image signal from the CCD sensor, a coordinate detector for detecting coordinate positions on the original, and a CPU with a memory for determining a slice level and, quantizing the image signal in accordance with an algorithm stored in the memory.
