ABSTRACT:
An image pickup apparatus includes an image pickup unit in the form of a hollow ball having an image sensor inside thereof and a lens for focusing an optical image onto the image sensor, a first magnetic member fixedly attached to the image pickup unit, a holder for rotatably holding the image pickup unit, a second magnetic member for magnetically attracting the first magnetic member, and a mover for moving the second magnetic member to thereby rotate the image pickup unit so that the lens orients in a desired direction.
