ABSTRACT:
In an image pickup apparatus capable of mounting a media card101having a nonvolatile memory and a communication circuit, when image data of a captured image is transmitted to an external, the image data corresponding to a data length of a packet is stored in the nonvolatile memory of the media card, and the image data is sent to the communication circuit103of the media card and divided into a plurality of packets to be transmitted to the external. When transmission of the image data is aborted, the image data still not stored in the nonvolatile memory is stored in the nonvolatile memory.
