The position restricting mechanism has first rubber rollers disposed for rolling contact with a surface of a stimulable phosphor sheet, and a second rubber roller disposed for rolling contact with an opposite surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet. The first rubber rollers and the second rubber roller serve to position a reading line on the stimulable phosphor sheet.
