ABSTRACT:
A printer which has selectable emulations. The printer includes a buffer memory for temporarily storing image data supplied from the host unit and an image forming device for forming an image on an image bearing member according to the image data. A first key is provided for changing the printer emulation. A second key is provided for holding the image data when the printer emulation is changed. A third key is provided for erasing the image data when the emulation is changed.
