ABSTRACT:
The invention provides an image forming apparatus which performs continuous copying operation without degrading the quality of copies. The apparatus includes a photosensitive drum for forming an image thereon, pressure fixing rollers for fixing the transferred image on the transfer paper sheet, a detection switch for detecting the trailing edge of the transfer paper sheet, and timers T0 to T5 assigned in a RAM of a microcomputer .mu.COM of a control section. The timers function such that the conveyance of the transfer paper sheet for the next copying operation is prohibited until the current transfer paper sheet is completely fed out, thereby preventing an adverse effect of an impact by the pressure/fixing rollers.
