ABSTRACT:
Character stroke is strengthened by processing video image data with a 16.times.16 kernal, and moving the kernal one pixel at a time through the image. For each pixel position, sections of the kernal, are selectively filled with black pixels in proportion to the number of black pixels in each section, in accordance with a set of predetermined rules.
