ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to an illumination device in which a holographic device (HP.sub.i) separates the polarizations of an incident beam. The resulting polarized beam is transmitted to a holographic device (HL.sub.i) focusing the beam at various points of a screen. This screen may be a liquid-crystal screen (LCD).
Applications: Liquid-crystal display.
