ABSTRACT:
Hydroxypropyl cellulose ethers which have a methoxyl substitution of from 21% to 35% and a hydroxypropoxyl substitution of from 14% to 35% and which have a viscosity of at least about 50 mPa.multidot.s as a 2 weight percent aqueous solution are useful as thickening agents for organic liquids, optionally mixed with water.
