ABSTRACT:
A composition (being effective for removing chloride ions from liquids) comprises at least one hydrotalcite and 3-6 weight percent of at least one sodium polyphosphate. Preferably, this composition is prepared by a process comprising the step of calcining a mixture of at least one hydrotalcite and 3-6 weight percent of at least one sodium polyphosphate for about 10-20 hours at a temperature of about 370.degree.-480.degree. C.
