ABSTRACT:
Radiation sensitive silver halide photographic elements are disclosed which are protected from fog by hydrolyzed quaternized chalcogenazolium salts of middle chalcogens, wherein the quaternizing substituent contains a ##STR1## group in which T and T.sup.1 are carbonyl or sulfonyl and m is from 1 to 3.
