ABSTRACT:
A process for the hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons comprising contacting said unsaturated hydrocarbons, with hydrogen, at temperatures ranging from about 40.degree. C. to about 160.degree. C., and pressures ranging from about 100 psi to about 3000 psi, with a catalyst comprising an ion exchange resin and an organic linking compound having at least one resin compatible moiety ionically bound to said resin and further having at least one metal complexible moiety selected from the group consisting of trivalent nitrogen, trivalent phosporous, trivalent arsenic, trivalent bismuth and trivalent antimony complexed to a metal selected from the group consisting of ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum.
