ABSTRACT:
A hydrogen separation membrane has a hydrogen-permeable metal foil laminated to a porous metal support. The metal support comprising a laminate of metal-reinforcing plates each having a plurality of hydrogen-flow-through holes. The metal-reinforcing plates have rectangular or similarly shaped holes having longitudinal and lateral axes. The laminate is assembled so that the longitudinal axes of the holes of adjacent metal-reinforcing plates intersect substantially at right angles with each other.
