ABSTRACT:
A hydrocarbyl-substituted dihydrouracil represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which R is a hydrocarbyl radical having an average molecular weight ranging from about 150 to 2000 and R' is hydrogen, a hydrocarbyl radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an R"--(X--R'").sub.y -- radical in which R" is an alkyl radical having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, X is oxygen or an --NH-- radical, R'" is a divalent hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and y is an integer from 1 to 3, a method for preparing said hydrocarbyl-substituted dihydrouracil, and a lubricating oil composition containing same is provided.
