ABSTRACT:
A polymer extender composition for use with fluorochemical repellents, said composition comprising monomers copolymerized in the following percentages by weight:(a) from about 60% to about 94% of a monomer, or mixture of monomers, of the formula I:in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?[CH3—(CH2)p][CH3(CH2)n]CHCH2—OC(O)—C(R)═CH2, and   (I)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?(b) from about 5% to about 20% of a monomer, or mixture of monomers, of the formula II:in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?H—(OCH2CH2)m—O—C(O)—C(R)═CH2  (II)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?whereineach R is independently H or CH3;n is 1 to 10;p is 1 to 20 andm is 2 to 10 is disclosed.
