ABSTRACT:
A hydraulic release tool used above any work string which includes an elongated mandril and a releasing means axially and slidingly mounted within the mandril and having an internal stabilizing means and/or external/internal fishing
eck capable of releasing a male conversion means and/or external/internal fishing neck. The male conversion means and/or external/internal fishing neck is disposed at the lower end of the hydraulic release tool, and is released when the work string tools become stuck, thus allowing the stuck work string tools to become relieved by any conventional standardized overshot fishing tool; while also allowing the retrieval of the tubing above the released hydraulic release tool.
