ABSTRACT:
A hydraulic jack system used for rerailing rail vehicles and for also lifting and lowering heavy loads comprises a base pivotable with respect to the horizontal, giving the hydraulic jack vertical and lateral lift motion. This is particularly advantageous when rerailing rail vehicles as both of these motions are necessary. The hydraulic jack of this invention also has the advantage of being small, portable and easy to assemble.
