The invention provides a human glutaredoxin .beta. (GRX.beta.) and polynucleotides which identify and encode GRX.beta.. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, agonists, antibodies and antagonists. The invention also provides methods for treating disorders associated with expression of GRX.beta..
