ABSTRACT:
A method for the production of high density compacts of calcium hexaboride omprising the gradual heating of stoichiometric quantities of calcium oxide and boron powder to a temperature of approximately 1500.degree. C and maintaining that temperature for a period of about 30 minutes to produce calcium hexaboride, applying a pressure of about 5500 psi, and maintaining both temperatures and pressures for about 90 minutes.
