ABSTRACT:
A method of expressing proteins is disclosed. In a preferable embodiment, the method comprises placing a DNA sequence encoding a protein or peptide and expression vector containing a regulatable promoter expressible inRhodospirillum rubrumand expressing the protein within a bacterial host, wherein the host has extra capacity for membrane formation and wherein the host is a member of the genusRhodospirillum.
