There is provided a honeycomb structure having a consecutive cell structure and capable of reconciling reduction in pressure loss and improvement in purification ability and a method for manufacturing the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure1has a plurality of partition walls2partitioning a plurality of cells3extending in an axial direction. At least a part of continuous partition walls2has a curved shape protruding toward outside from the center4of a cross-section perpendicular to the axial direction or a curved shape protruding toward the center of the cross-section from outside.
