ABSTRACT:
There is provided a gene encoding a novel protein that is involved in differentiation and that has a homeodomain-like sequence. For example, there is provided a gene derived fromArabidopsis thaliana, said gene encoding a protein that has the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2 or 4, that is involved in differentiation, and that has a homeodomain-like sequence. This gene can not only be used for the production of said protein and but for the control of plant regeneration, differentiation, growth, and the like by introducing said gene into a plant.
