ABSTRACT:
A holding unit for holding one or a plurality of tools and articles comprising a holding portion having resilient thin plates or segments divided by a plurality of radially extended slits at a predetermined angular distance and arranged in a ring or in an elliptical form, the envelope of the extreme open edge of each segment forming a hole, a mounting portion which may be formed in various different shapes, such as a belt member, one or more resilient detent members, etc. According to one embodiment of the holding unit, when an article to be held is inserted into the hole formed by the envelope of the extreme edge of each thin plate segments divided by the radially extended slits, the article thus inserted is firmly gripped by the periphery of the thin plate segments, thus enabling an article to be held therein or to be removed therefrom.
