ABSTRACT:
The purification of theE.coliK5 polysaccharide by treatment with isopropyl alcohol and elimination of lipophilic substances is described. The purified product can be used to prepare, after N-deacetylation, new N,O-sulfated polysaccharides with high degree of sulfation.
