ABSTRACT:
A glass composition comprised of controlled amounts of BaO, SrO, ZnO and ZrO.sub.2, and alkali metal oxides has a high linear X-ray absorption coefficient of at least 34 cm.sup.-1 at a wavelength of 0.6 .ANG., satisfactory chromaticity and excellent resistance to devitrification, suitable for use as a panel glass of a cathode ray tube.
