ABSTRACT:
A ternary composite with thermal stability of up to at least 200.degree. C. is formed using a thermally stable matrix resin, carbon fibers, and borosilicate glass particulates.
The composite has stability to acids, toxic wastes and may be formed into sheets, shapes, tubes, containers, flooring materials and the like. The composite may have unevenly distributed borosilicates, enhancing one surface's ability to withstand strong acid conditions.
